Football News Jadon Sancho Liverpool boss makes January transfer admission
Football News Jadon Sancho | Jurgen Klopp has refused to be drawn on interest in Jadon Sancho.
He revealed Liverpool ARE ready to plunge in the January transfer window.
The Reds have been strongly linked with the young England star, after reports he is unsettled at current side Borussia Dortmund.
Klopp did admit he thought the 19 year old was a “very good player”but refused to say anything further
despite conceding that would simply inspire even more speculation about a New Year transfer swoop.
Asked if he had anything to say on the rumours, he replied with a smile: “No. He’s a very good player.”
And pressed further if he felt Dortmund valuation of close to £100million for the former Manchester City youth team star would be an issue
He replied: That’s one issue. 100 percent an issue.
“But there’s nothing to say about it. I know how it sounds, but I cannot change that.
"There’s nothing to say about it, which can mean there’s absolutely nothing to say about it.”
Klopp has been emphatic in ruling out links with other players, quashing completely, for instance, the recent suggestion the Reds wanted Kylian Mbappe.
He seemed to suggest though, Liverpool’s do want to sign a player in January.
Admitting they were ready for that prospect - and even hinting it is likely because it’s harder to land players in the summer.
"For us it is always the same. We don't speak about it but we are pretty much always ready to do something if it will help us,” he said of a January swoop.
“If not, then not. We will see. I think the summer window is more difficult because of the different moments when it closes in Europe.
"It only hurts English clubs - we can only buy until a specific moment, other clubs can buy into the season.”
